Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/10/13 – I had occasion to see a band at a festival in late October 2013, a cover band no less, fronted by 3 female singers who were in a word or two, just awesome. The band went from 0 to 60 mph in less than 10 seconds. This is a high energy, rockin’ fun band performing a diverse array of material.

They started off with a bang and even after several encores, still left us all wanting more. Their business card reads “Three Female Vocalist Powered” and that’s the truth. The Ray Bandini Revue is the band of whom I speak. They perform old stuff and new stuff in the R&B, Motown, rock, classic rock, soul, blues and pop genres. You’ll hear songs made famous by Gladys Knight and the Pips, Ray Charles, Evanescence, Christina Aguilera, MJ, Guns N’ Roses, Los Lobos, Kelly Clarkson, Joe Cocker, The Beatles, Muddy Waters,, Alicia Keyes, The Rolling Stones, Jesse James, Etta James  and they perform several Spanish language songs.

I tracked them down and saw them at a subsequent performance at a beach bar in Venice where one of the bartenders came up and rhymed while they improvised behind him. It was fantastic. Besides the three fantastic singers, very high energy and entertaining singers, there are four musicians, who provide a great feel complimenting the singers. For the past two years, they have had a house residency every Saturday at the Venice Bistro in Venice California from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., so they’ll be there this Saturday, and the next Saturday, and so on. If you go to see them, if you do not hear the genre you like right away, stick around, it’ll be right up.
