By Fredwill Hernandez Los Angeles, Ca. (Hollywood Today) 9/17/13/–On Monday – Sept. 16, 2013, Hollywood Today visited Del Records in Downey, Ca., home of Regional Mexican Social Media sensation Luis Coronel who was born in Tucson, Arizona, on February 3, 1996, to learn and get his take on his sudden fame, and the seven month journey that has led to his first album release. The 17 year old singer who was discovered through social media and currently has more than 300,000 followers on Facebook, 39,000 on Instagram, more than 15,000 on Twitter and YouTube videos with more than over a million views, spoke to HT about his album titled Con La Frente en Alto (High up With My Forehead) and what led to his discovery. ”I recorded a video playing around where I was singing the Regional Mexican hit song “Mi Niña Traviesa,” to my girlfriend and she uploaded it, the next day my mother said that my phone had been going off constantly, so when I checked it, I realized those were people from my Facebook account with positive comments about the video and my singing,” said Coronel. “I think my success is also due to a promise I made to my father before he passed away November 26, 2011. That promise, I believe has been a motivating factor in all the hard work and dedication I have put in everything I do and this first album.” The young singing sensation, who recently bought his mother a house, and who claims he loves a challenge, will carry on as part of La Banda El Recodo’s United States Tour which also include Banda Los Recoditos and fellow record label mates Regulo Caro, and Gerado Ortiz, on the bill, who Coronel, claims is his singing idol.   Fredwill Hernandez: Photography
