Beverly Hills, CA(Hollywood Today)5/11/13/–It was like a scene from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous
starring Robin Leach
himself, at Sur Restaurant, the most happening eatery in our town. Lisa Vanderpump,
owner, and star of the current reality series – Housewives of Beverly Hills
was on hand to welcome the “Original Beverly Hills Housewife”, Grace Robbins,
who was the wife of the world’s best selling-author Harold Robbins.
Gorgeous Grace was launching her new tome: Cinderella and the Carpetbagger,
where she turns her wild jet setting life into a brand new memoir.
Andy Cohen, CEO Bravo & Talk Show Host, with fellow author, Grace Robbins at Barnes & Noble
Harold Robbins’ fame was legendary, as was their lifestyle together. This engrossing tale spans the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s in their entire hallucinogenic and free wheeling splendor. Some of the VIP’s in attendance included Ginny Mancini
(who was also a part of the original B.H. Housewife clan; actresses Joan Van Ark, Terri Moore
(former Mrs. Howard Hughes), Renee Taylor
and Larry Flynt
and his lovely wife, Liz.Grace has been experiencing a whirlwind book tour, including stops in Vegas, New York and Palm Springs, and of course, at Barnes & Noble at the Grove. She is pictured here with Andy Cohen,
Executive V.P. at Bravo and Host of the network’s nightly live talk show, Watch What Happens Live
. Cohen just came out with his new book, Most Talkative,
where he dishes his hit Housewives Series. Maybe he should interview the original Beverly Hills Housewife, Grace Robbins – she certainly has a lot to share.

At another event at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Producers Chuck
& Ava Fries
invited us to the American Spirit Awards presented by the Caucus of Producers, Writers and Directors. Among those honored was former Connecticut Senator Christopher Dodd,
now the CEO and Chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America; former Columbia Pictures and Universal Studios head, Frank Price; Jerry Petry,
Chair of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation; and Teri Schwartz,
Dean of the UCLA School of Film and Television for their support of and commitment to the creative community.
And last, but not least, had the occasion to dine at the crème de la crème of French gourmet food and fine wines – Monsieur Marcel,
in Beverly Hills. Stephane
and Katy Strouk
have been dedicated to bringing the French bistro experience to Los Angeles epicures since 1993, and this marks their third Southern California site.
From caviar to cheese plates and beyond, their gourmet market is stocked with a dramatic assortment of meats, mustards, sauces and, of course, a wide variety of wines.

The full service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from 9 a.m. to 11:00 pm, and their menu is comfortable, yet refined. You cannot beat the Beef Bourguignon I sampled the other night with my pal, Annie Gaybis Byner,
who is dancing in the SHARE show on Saturday night. But more on that in my next column in Hollywood Today..
