Pasadena, CA (Hollywood Today
) 2/8/2013- “I was really excited when VH1 told me that they would allow me to be myself and let me continue having that brand of kind of being outrageous, outspoken, but fun” says Jenny McCarthy host of her new talk show. She is modeling her show after Hugh Hefner’s Playboy After Dark.
”So each week Jenny will invite her celebrity guests and various pop culture party crashers to gossip about the week, their love lives, and everything in between. And of course, there will be dancers of course and the occasional derelict. So in short, this will definitely be Jenny’s attempt at a
Peabody says This is Jenny McCarthy’s debut in the talk show world. She wanted to keep her identity and not lose herself in daytime television.
After moving back to her hometown of Chicago last year, the late night talk show will allow her to keep her show business name as she only has to commute to New York to film.
With guests, Jojo the Rapper from Atlanta, her makeup artist and sister Joselyn, the show opens up with a cocktail called “Nerd a Rita” in honor of Super Bowl Go Daddy commercial’s Jesse Heiman, who we find out later is the shows “surprise guest” The ladies converse back and forth about anything and everything from Jojo’s rear end to Jenny McCarthy’s sisters preference in dark skinned men. Jenny McCarthy simply states “I try to tell her that it’s all pink on the inside.” The audience is told several times after that Joselyn only goes for the “chocolate flavored” kind. Too much information…way too much.
Jesse Heiman (Go Daddy Commercial Star) is the groundbreaking interviewee that takes the place of Josh Groban, who suddenly cancelled before appearing on the show (I’m thinking his publicist got wind of how horrible the show was going to be). During this so called “groundbreaking” interview Jenny McCarthy and Jesse are lying down on the floor licking “Blow-Pop” lollipops, talking about his “hot kiss” with the blonde bombshell that millions watched on Super Bowl Sunday. The show closes with him up on the couch in between the sister and the rapper. Jesse Heiman was told to make out with the ladies, who taunt him for a minute and then it’s over without a kiss at all.
The show was shallow and obnoxious to say the least. Jenny McCarthy needs to stick to writing books or acting in comedies as far as being the female “Hugh Hefner”. McCarthy is going to have to find classier guests and perhaps hold the audiences interest for longer than 15 minutes.
