Photographer Julian Lennon Interviewed Julian Lennon Photographer So the idea is try to make it a unique, grand and beautiful experience” JL  By Jimmy Steinfeldt West Hollywood,CA(Hollywood Today)2/6/13/– The Morrison Hotel Gallery is thrilled to announce the  opening of The Morrison Hotel Gallery at the luxury and legendary hotel Sunset Marquis, known as the serene garden oasis nestled just below the bustling Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. With its longstanding tradition and reputation amongst musicians and the entertainment industry, Sunset Marquis is the perfect venue for the launch. JS: What photographers have influenced you? JL: I would have to say I don’t have a list except for Timothy White who helped set me on the course of exhibiting my photographs and got me to begin working with the Morrison Hotel Gallery.  I don’t really consider myself a photographer but I would say I’m influenced by everything I’ve visually loved in life. JS: Could you elaborate on those things you’ve visually loved in life? JL: Well anything that I’ve directly worked on such as: Videos, and also the work I did as executive producer on the Whale Dreamers documentary. It was a huge project and it told about the indigenous people of Australia. JS: I’ve seen your photography on your website and elsewhere and as a photographer myself I can assure you your work is that of a real photographer. JL: Thank you Jimmy.  I know that when I do a photo shoot I sometimes think I may not have gotten the shot.  Not until I review the photos and do the editing do I know for sure. JS: After 3 decades of shooting I can tell you I have the same thought after many of my photo sessions.  I always know I got good photos but I don’t know for certain I’ve got that one great shot till I see the final results. Julian what camera are you shooting with these days? JL: The Canon 5D Mark II. That’s been my favorite, just knowing I can capture a good quality shot.  I’ve played around with the Fujifilm X100 for portraits and for when I can be a ‘fly on the wall.’  Also I’ve used the Sony NEX 7.  It’s a reasonable camera and a reasonable lens and it’s great that it’s lightweight.  After years of carrying a shoulder pack with a full line of lens it’s good to downsize. JS: Tell me about the Morrison Hotel Gallery and your upcoming show. JL:  First of all I have a great deal of appreciation for the Morrison Hotel Gallery for giving me my first show which was in 2010 in Miami. The current exhibit opening this week is at The Sunset Marquis Hotel.  It is a wonderful hotel and even when I lived here I was there often. The hotel had great Rock & Roll photos however apropos to LA it was in need of a facelift, and with the Morrison Hotel Gallery involved there will be a wonderful diversity of great photographers’ work.  I’m honored to be part of it. JS: Tell me about the White Feather Foundation. JL: I set it up in 2007 to try to give back proceeds from the documentary Whale Dreamers to help the indigenous Australians live their lives. Also because many years ago my dad told me if there was any way to let me know he was OK that it would take the form of a White Feather.  So I really took that White Feather on board.  Listen, I’m in the position to do some good here and so for every venture I do–photography, music or otherwise, absolutely at least 10% will go to the White Feather Foundation. Someone To Look Up To by Julian Lennon Morrison Hotel Gallery

Someone To Look Up To by Julian Lennon Morrison Hotel Gallery

Our first event is in May 2013 and is being held to raise awareness and funds for all that we are trying to achieve.  On the invitation to the event I have decided to ask everyone to take a photograph and send it to me. I know not everyone invited will be able to attend however I will select the best photos and print them.  Some of the photos will have been taken by famous people like Bono.  Some photos will have been taken by people who are not known. The photos will be exhibited at the event but will appear without the name of who took them. I will provide a list of all the names of the photographers but not tell which picture they took. The auction will be a bit of a potluck as to whether you are bidding on something that materially has value or whether the value is solely in the art and beauty of the photo.  After the auction the names of who took each photo will be revealed. So the idea is try to make it a unique, grand and beautiful experience.  This is one of our main projects for the White Feather Foundation and will occur in May.

 More Information on Sunset Marquis

Sunset Marquis has been an inner sanctum for rock and roll musicians and Hollywood players looking to disappear into the abyss for a spell, since 1963. Located just off the famed Sunset Strip, the hotel has maintained a Zen-like design with a rock-and-roll spirit all throughout the years. Completed in 2009, the property underwent a $30 million dollar renovation and expansion including the introduction of 40 private Mediterranean-style Villas, 3200 square foot Presidential Villa, 2 pools, SPA, and indoor/outdoor RESTAURANT. In spring 2013, the all-suites main building will boast a complete redesign and fitness center.   images-2             Photographer/Writer: www.JimmySteinfeldt.com facebook.com/jimmysteinfeldt

Maybe I am wrong but isn’t it bad form to ask for a photo which Julian will then “judge” ?(and perhaps reject) How Rude right? Plus an “Auction” is such a dark negative energy creator. Remember “God Hates Competition”! Will no one of his facebook family where he seems to spend almost All Day Every day encourage this man to rise up to something better “spiritually? Please? :) It’s painful to watch how he wallows in negative energy and narcissism but maybe it’s just me :)

Thanks for discussing your ideas. I would also like to state that video games have been at any time evolving. Modern technology and innovations have helped create authentic and active games. All these entertainment games were not really sensible when the concept was being used. Just like other kinds of technology, video games also have had to evolve as a result of many generations. This is testimony towards fast development of video games.
