Returns to Syfy on Tuesday, January 15th

Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Today) 1/13/13 – “This show has a natural attraction,” says Jaleel White to Hollywood Today. He is the host of “Total Blackout” on Syfy. “It’s fun to be a part of shows that I don’t feel like I have to sell, I’m just honored to be a part of.” Total Blackout is a game show where contestants are put onto a completely darkened soundstage and are told to experience an object or a situation without the benefit of their eyes. They must use their other senses to complete the challenges.
Syfy hosted “Total Blackout Live” at The Grove in Los Angeles on Friday, January 11 and will run thru til Sunday, January 13 to give people a chance to experience a scaled-down version of “Total Blackout” in their Blackout Cube, a fully-enclosed room. Passers-by could sign up to face their fears and possibly have a chance to be a contestant on the show.
I had a chance to follow someone into the Cube, although I did not participate in the challenge itself. I have to say that, even though I wasn’t participating, the cube was a scary place. You lose all sense of where you are, where the walls are, and what is going to happen next. There was a whirring sound, and the nervous chatter of the contestant facing the challenge. I remember feeling a suspension of time. I had no idea how long I was in there and eventually, I wanted out, and I had to wait for the contestant to finish her challenge. Even knowing beyond doubt that it was perfectly safe, my mind wanted to make it a place to fear.
“People don’t realize that when you are in total darkness like that, you have no concept of spatial awareness. Spatial awareness is our comfort.” Jaleel explained to me. “When you go into that cube, which is a scaled-down version of the soundstage, which is even more scary, you don’t understand what your spatial awareness is. It’s the ultimate haunted house.”
“Total Blackout” returns to Syfy on Tuesday, January 15th 10:30p/9:30p Central.

My name is amber and, I would be great on your show because NOTHING scares me, I’m not affraid of anything. If you put me on your show I will be the first one to show no fear, my boyfriend says I should go on because everyone is affraid of something. And maybe you guys will find out what scares me.

hi there i would like to be a contestant on total black out.im scared to death of the dark and realy need to break my fear.i think this would be a good way for me to get over my fears.thankyou
