Hollywood, CA (Hollywood Today) 10/27/12 – IRASEMA performed at the 59th Annual Fall Carnival at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Hollywood, CA, which was held October 19, 20 and 21, 2012. IRASEMA was one of the main artist attractions of the festival. Her vibrant voice and passion embraced the audience in a magical musical performance accompanied by the great Mariachi Rey de Mexico.  On her last visit to California Irasema performed at the Expo Center of Sacramento with icons such as Conjunto Primavera, Ramon Ayala and La Arrolladora Banda Limon. In San Jose, California, she performed for the governor of the state of Zacatecas, Lic. Miguel Alonso Reyes and authorities from the Mexican and USA consulates.

The Blessed Sacrament Fall Carnival event combines live music, international food, mechanical games, folklore dance, a $5,000 grand prize raffle and much more. The carnival is a multicultural event that attracts approximately 30,000 people from across Southern California every year to enjoy the extravaganza and support a worthy cause.

Valerie Milano, Carnival Chair of Blessed Sacrament Carnival since 1996, journalist and mother of two, said, “The parish is very incredibly important to me, and I would like to have another opportunity to devote my time and energy so when I leave, I know it will be as strong, if not stronger, than when I became chair sixteen years ago.”

Yolanda BrownD. Min. Parish Life Director, added, “The spirit of togetherness will fill every inch of our parish, school rectory and social services campus with the participation of local business, the community and people that come from all over the place. Their participation will improve and benefit the educational opportunities provided to many underserved children and the quality of life for many of the less fortunate in Hollywood.”

Opcion Sonica USA and Guitar Center recently produced and presented the handprints of multiplatinum rock group MANA at the Rockwalk in Hollywood. This time Opcion Sonica USA participated at the Fall Carnival 2012 with talent such as Irasema, La Bestia, Felix & the Katz, Life Pulse, Zapoteco Roots, Tribal Sonido Migrante, Fortaleza Sonidera, A vivir el momento Flamenco/Kids de Rocio Ponce.

Carmen Chavez, General Producer of entertainment for the Fall Carnival 2012, did an excellent job and presented great popular talent such as Luz Roja de San Marcos, La Migra, Grupo Miramar, Banda Sol de Santa Cruz, Adela Fernandez “La Gallera,” Adrian Cruz, Ray Bandini Revue, Banda Sol Latino de Mazatlan Sinaloa, along with Opcion Sonica USA’s artists.

Tequila Mockingbird brought entertainment from acts such as Tru Fight, Knuckleheads, Michel Van London, Lawndale, Radioactive Chickenheads, Tequilability & Friends and The Long Beach Stingers.

Rafael Sigler, Tequila Mockingbird and Carmen Chavez were the light of the Carnival, as MC’s of the 2012 Fall Carnival.

I went to the annual Blessed Sacrament Carnival this year and was floored by the wonderful spirit of the event. I am already registered to attend next year.
