Pasadena, CA(Hollywood Today)10/19/12—This 4-day Festival opened , Thursday October 18, 2012 @ Santa Anita Westfield Mall 400 S. Baldwin Ave. Arcadia CA 91007.  Event info: http://www.ippff.com/event/  You can still take in full screenings, workshops and entertainment.

This is truly A Faith Based Film Festival. Unlike the “FAITH BASED SUMMIT 2012″, we covered last June of this year. They sponsored by VARIETY, ODYSSEY NETWORKS, 20thFOX HOME ENT., We are now seeing dozens of smaller sponsors who are also make a difference in this expanding entertainment market. They know this market has tremendous potential. I like the idea that it’s not all about the money…  See @ http://www.ippff.com/partners/

They actually are not just having festival but connecting with the audiences all over the world with their ongoing outreach program too. I checked out their MISSION STATEMENT on the internet and found it interesting that they cover so many countries.

STATEMENT :

Media shapes the values of our families, our communities, our world. Through positive media, the Pan Pacific Film Festival aims to restore the core values of faith, hope, and love. We are a family and faith-friendly film festival dedicated to using positive media to inspire change in the world, because we at PPFF believe in the beauty of film to reach, to move, and to inspire people globally.

This is my first FAITH BASED FILM FESTIVALE , so I wanted to know more about it?  After asking around at the sign-in area I nicely introduced to the Founder and CEO of IPPFF,

Ken An

Ken co-founed GMIT (Global Media & IT), a mission organization utilizing media and information technology which is also hosting the Pan Pacific Film Festival. He has been in the IT industry over 20 years, and has tried to connect IT with mission ministry for past 10 years. He established IT-Specialist mission training program and has trained countless people to have mission oriented mind. He has traveled over 12 countries to teach IT and to spread the gospel. He continually networks with faithful Christians all over the world and has recently taken a major step with Indonesia to expand PPFF to Indonesia

I asked Ken why have another film festival ?

“The 21st Century is the media era. Media and IT are the most powerful vehicle for missions or evangelism. We would like to use this tool for mission, especially countries where the missions are hard to enter. God gave us the vision in 2007, and we started from 2008. Even if we are not professional film makers, nor engaged in the film industry.”

Then Ken , what do you do with films that are not shown commercial Movie Houses and how do you distribute them effectively ?

“By DVD after translating them into different languages. We translated them into 15 different languages last year and distributed them Missionaries, Int’l Missions and provided them to Christian TV Stations, such as Indovision in Indonesia. We are developing streaming as distribution also.”

Ken mentioned they had a large amount of entries this year. I was surprised to find out they even had a entrées from Iran this year. This is really interesting with all the stories about the horrible treatment that Christians and other religions are getting treated over their !
