Digital Hollywood 2012: Content Summit XII Transmedia Streamed cultural immersion

Marina del Rey, CA(Hollywood Today)10/17/12/—Digital Hollywood continues through Thursday the 18 of October at the Ritz Carlton, Marina del Rey, California. On Monday, October 16, the first day of Digital Hollywood my editor and I watched a live stream of the opening panel of this year’s Digital Comedy Summit. Traffic and the price of petrol, not to mention the geography of Los Angeles, made it a tempting option to report on the summit from the comfort of home rather than schlepping all the way across town. But we did. He kept us abreast of the proceedings from an IPad while I navigated the mid-morning traffic.

Once at the RC it became obvious that attending live is a truly interactive experience. Online, you might miss out on the next YouTube sensation Like Stunt Woman Ace Hatem’s spontaneous pitch for “The Boat Hoe”. You won’t get the scope and promise of Digital Entertainment with out seeing the new talent and mingling face to face with the new breed of Executives, that will lead the industry for decades to come, in person. And besides, the daily poolside cocktail mixer ain’t bad.
