HALLOWEEN FUN from East to West; Griffith Park to Santa Monica Place.
The horror is back and the haunting on this property it is real!
The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride kicked off this last Friday for its 4th year, with the theme “The Congregation”, inviting guests to “step into our nightmare.”
It is the prequel to previous years, as it explores the darkness and power of cults.
The 4th annual hayride takes a deeper and longer look into the minds of the Clifton Twins, the daughters of Zoo Keeper Ferdinand Clifton, who were rumored for years to suffer from violent nightmares so uncontrollable they were treated for sleep disorders. Their journals, which documented these ghastly visions, were found in their entirety and the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has recreated their contents for a 25-minute experience through the woods that left guests as prey. The ride is longer this year, and plastic rain-coats are given to guests, before boarding.
While playing in the woods surrounding the Old Zoo, the Clifton Twins discovered a strange playmate – a little boy named Aleister. The boy had no family; no one could understand how he had survived. He would barely speak, and if he did, he preached a dark religion he had learned from the presence in the woods.
Soon, he gathered a flock of followers, the Clifton Family included.

This is the first year for Santa Monica Place, to have a Halloween attraction for late shoppers:
Maze 1“The Infirmary”
Patients check in, but they don’t check out. Beware of the orderly’s creeping about. Nurse Whacky will greet you and handle you with care, but only if Doctor Giggles is there. He cares for all of his patients with an electric bedside manner, but be aware of his assistant whose face is made of leather!
Maze 2 “Insomniac Clown Playhouse”
The entire world loves a clown and can’t imagine fright. But what happens when the clowns have been up all night? Insomniac clowns run about town, frightening all that are around. Beware of the walls for there are tricks to be had and one clown in particular has gone incredibly mad. So come one and come all for the circus is here, ready to unleash your innermost fears!
Maze 3 “Granny’s Manor of Mayhem”
Come on over to Granny’s House if you dare, where the souls of dead relatives will give you a scare. There’s plenty of fixing’s right here in Pig’s Kitchen, yet beware as the Headless Horseman’s spirit’s a hitching’. And if you make it through, whether dead or alive, there will be quite the surprise and you won’t be able to hide. She twists and she turns and gives you a great fright, for her friend’s stuck in the well, and anxiously waits to haunt you at night!
