San Francisco, CA(Hollywood Today)9/13/12/—In the San Francisco spirit of freedom, art and music, photographer Victoria Smith opens a photo exhibition entitled The World and Rock & Roll. The one night only show will be a juxtaposition of rock-star imagery and “other earthly experiences” meaning landscapes, reflections, art and nature, including over 40 editioned archival prints.
Ms. Smith has documented worldwide as official photographer of SXSW to shooting Glastonbury for Q Magazine to being a plain magnet for it. What makes her rock photography legendary is her candid portraiture of by chance meetings with the likes of Coldplay, Air, Gotye, Wolfmother, Kasabian, Crosby Nash, Wanda Jackson and hundreds more including The Strokes, Jack White, The Walkmen, and James Brown. It’s a personal diary of a life lived given access on good graces and good timing, and having backed it up with talent. She also has a gifted eye with color and beauty.
Taking place in a counter culture, Warhol-esque, 10,000 sq foot building, the September 28th exhibition is to be an ‘experience’ complete with Psychedelic Lighting, Immersive Installations, and live musical performances by San Francisco’s The Ferocious Few, The Hooks, Melvoy and also with surprise appearances. Let not the bands detract from the art, they are there to add celebration, as the exhibition is also a bash for the photographers birthday.
Interested buyers are urged to come early, doors open at 6pm. Entrance and refreshments are free. If you would like to be added to the guest list write an email to biggie@victoriasmithphoto.com with the subject BASH.
