West Hollywood,CA(Hollywood Today)4/6/12/—THE BOOMERANG EFFECT is a lively sprint through the bedroom of five couples, glued by sex to fashion a relationship or a solution, as they negotiate the stormy, twisted terrain of human entanglements, conflicts and frailties. The opening scene begins with fellatio that is tastefully enacted for the audience under the covers, enjoyed by the fellatee, but distasteful to the fellator who runs to the bathroom to wash her face. It was his birthday.
The acting and directing is wonderfully natural. Each couple has their own time on stage and never interact together until the curtain bow but they all reference and mention the other characters in personal ways which gives the impression of having seen ten actors in an ensemble performance as opposed to five separate vignettes. This is a good time fun play generously sprinkled with loud laughs and some quiet reflections. The writing rings true and the conflicts have a familiar reality that adds to the enjoyment.
