Anaheim, CA(Hollywood Today)1/19/12/— Smokey Robinson is alive and well representing his and Motown’s past glory mixed with the American songbook and his solo career too. Smokey lit up spotlight 29 in the Coachella Valley this week with an audience that could go on the road as his back up vocalists. They knew his lyrics as well as he did. They sang them strong and with conviction and in key too.
It was the perfect “Date Night’ fare for a appreciative crowd. From his opening song to a “GO-GO” through his “Baby Baby” he owned the crowd and their memories of the Miracles, the Temptations, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. Back in the day when they were all out on the road doing 50 nights with two shows a night he was performing with his band, the Miracles, and writing for most of the other Motown artist roster as well. A true original still doing what he loves best his show is the perfect escape for all the pressures of the day.
