Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Today) 01/19/12—“Grey’s Anatomy” actress Sarah Drew welcomed a baby boy into the world Wednesday night. The baby, born in Los Angeles at 6:21 p.m., weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. and is 19 inches long, Drew’s rep told People.

Drew, 31, and husband Peter Lanfer were surprised by the baby’s gender, as they chose not to know until the baby’s birth.

“I thought it would be a good idea to wait to find out because I am a control freak by nature,” Drew said. “I’m about to walk into a chapter of my life where I have no control over anything anymore, and I figured I’d ease myself into it by not allowing myself to plan for the sex of the baby. It’s good training.”

The name? Micah Emmanuel Lanfer.

Drew plays Dr. April Kepner on ABC’s medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” which entered its eighth season in September 2011.
