Bye-bye “One Life to Live”. Hello “The Revolution”. Starting Monday, January 16 in the OLTL time slot of 1pm, ABC launches a new daytime series set to help transform your life inside and out. Lifestyle tips on improving viewers health and body, finance and family, mind and environment.
Each week the show will showcase the weight loss journey of one woman and using the panel of experts help provide inspiration and tips to help achieve personal goals
Vice President of ABC Daytime Communications, Mirian Arias told HT “The Revolution” is your daily boost whether you’re looking for inspiration to accomplish little victories or in need of a road map for major change.”
The co-hosts include faces familiar to most television viewers and include design expert Ty Pennington, (“Extreme Makeover”); OB-GYN Dr. Jennifer Ashton, (CBS Evening News with Katie Couric”); style guru Tim Gunn, (“Project Runway”); celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak; and therapist Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry.
Show creator JD Roth, (creator of NBC’s “Biggest Loser”) told HT about the format of the show, “It’s unique in daytime. It’s sort of the evolution of daytime, and it’s an interesting kind of Rubik’s Cube to wrap your head around, “ said Roth at TCA winter press tour, “we follow one woman’s journey starting on Monday, and over the course of five days you see five months of her transformation. And you have to look at that idea as a way to use that as inspiration, so that if she’s going through exactly what you’re going through, she has highs and lows and good days and bad days, and that should inspire you to keep your journey going. And when you tune in on Friday, you get to see the end of her five-month transformation, and then the next week we start with another story.”
The co-hosts each weigh in during the journey, as Dr. Ashton explained, “people don’t have issues in isolation. There are always overlaps. So coming at it from five different perspectives is not only a luxury, I think it’s a necessity, and I think it’s appropriate for the times in which we live.”
Dr. Davis agreed they work back and forth off each other’s specialties. “I think the beauty about the show is that not only is the viewer at home learning something, but I think that we as co-hosts are all learning something as well. I mean, I learned how to spackle a wall from Tim Gunn. Okay?”

I’m with Lori! Maybe she’s a ONTL fan too. Watching other people loose wieght doesn’t make YOU loose weight. You got to get off that couch & go exercise!

Not for this viewer! If it’s all about ratings, then the best thing we can do to show ABC what a colossal mistake they made, is NOT give these shows our viewership. In fact, ABC loses my ratings completely. Shame on you for not listening to your viewers.
