DAVE MATTHEWS STORMS INTO NEW YORK
Ticket holders for Saturday and Sunday are invited to attend the Friday event today at Governors Island.
The Governor of New York has issued a state of emergency, therefore the DMB Caravan events on Saturday,
August 27th and Sunday, August 28th have been postponed.
We will announce the new Caravan Governors Island dates as soon as they have been confirmed.

New York,NY(Hollywood Today)8/24/11/—Dave Matthews Band Caravan Sets up tent on New York’s Governors Island . The Dave Matthews Band headlines this three day festival that features a great lineup including Dispatch, The Roots and Moe.
In addition to Dave Matthews Band, the lineup for the Governors Island event will include Dispatch, The Roots, Gogol Bordello, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, The Head and the Heart, Vieux Farka Touré, David Wax Museum and many more to be announced soon.
Governors Island, a 172-acre island in the heart of New York Harbor, is only 800 yards from Lower Manhattan and even closer to Brooklyn. It was recently named one of America’s coolest urban parks by Travel + Leisure magazine. Free concert specific ferries will be provided at designated locations.

DMB Caravan on Governors Island is cancelled because of hurricane Irene?

I wonder if Dave Matthews will offer a refund since the hurricane is going to be really bad for the weekend of DMB Caravan on Governors Island? Or if they will reschedule? They should let us know soon so we can make plans! With all those stages collapsing at concerts lately, I doubt they will want to risk being stranded on an island in hurricane weather.

Wish DMB would update their website about how the hurricane could potentially impact the concert. It says practically nothing about this storm, which could be serious. I’ve been stuck on Governor’s Island during a storm before. Not cool, we couldn’t get off the island for an hour! I’m willing to do that for DMB but please post more info!
