Prince William and wife Catherine finish US Tour

Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Today) 07/10/11—Prince William and wife Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are flying back to their native England after spending three days touring Los Angeles. While they attended an environmental group’s morning reception and a veterans’ job fair at Sony Studios on Sunday, the probable highlight of their day was a trip to the Inner-City Arts Center.
The Inner-City Arts is a non-profit school, which serves disadvantaged children in Downtown L.A.’s Skid Row.
Prince William’s visit to this center is reminiscent of Princess Diana’s love and dedication to those living in poverty and shedding light on how severe an issue it is. The royal couple had the opportunity to tour the center, attend art classes and watch a dance performance.
Prince William and Kate painted with fifth-graders and helped students in a ceramics class in making a giant tortoise—which Prince William quipped to name “Harry.” However, the children insisted naming the tortoise William. It’s reported that one goal of the visit is to create a partnership between the ICA and Britain’s Centrepoint, a non-profit homeless organization which Prince William is a patron of.
What is admirable about Prince William is his innate sense of awareness for the lost and hurting. He too has his mother’s dedication to shed light on issues that lie in the darkness. While it’s certain he receives much attention, let’s take the time to actually praise him for his heartfelt dedication.
