Future King and Queen have a Hollywood-like romance, why not visit the land of dreams?

This Royal Couple not coming to Hollywood for tea and cricket

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today Newsmagazine) 6/1/11 — The Royal Couple is going to go Hollywood July 8-10, according to Buckingham Palace sources. Hollywood Today has been reporting this since April and just now the mainstream media is starting to drool buckets.

That will become a flood over the next month – though most media makes a deal of William and Catherine of Cambridge visiting friends David and Victoria (Posh Spice) Beckham, but they miss the real reason for an L.A. stop.

The royal media munchers forget that among Prince Williams dozen titles is the one that has him headed to Tinseltown: He is President of BAFTA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts – which award the Brit equivalent of the Oscars and Emmys each year.

Which means he will take the opportunity to promote British films and UK locales to the local entertainment community here in the colonies.

1. It’s a position he likely takes seriously and closely tied to Royal tradition.
2. The former BAFTA presidents were HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (1959–1965) [Prince Philip]
3. The Rt. Hon. The Earl Mountbatten of Burma (1966–1972) [Eventually assassinated Admiral Louis Mountbatten ]
4. HRH The Princess Anne (1973–2001)
5. The Rt Hon. The Lord Attenborough (2001–2010) [legendary director Richard Attenborough]
6. HRH The Duke of Cambridge (2010–present) [Prince William]

In addition Prince Charles, Princess Diana and Prince Andrew have spent time in Hollywood and/or the Cannes Film Festival stumping for British Film, obviously an important topic for the Royals.

Prince William has reportedly asked the organization to come up with some events, though the independent-thinking couple may have their own ideas

A BAFTA insider told Britain’s Daily Mail “We are suggesting several ideas, including a tea party, a cricket match and also a more formal gala evening to promote the British film industry.”

Yeah, right. Tea and cricket they can get at home, the couple wants to see Hollywood do what it does best: glam and biz.

That same paper reports that Victoria Beckham is apparently booking her caesarian section for her baby’s birth a few days before the royal visit. Not true. Victoria will have the birth when it is ready, she can twit Kate anytime.

Elton John is ready to throw a bash for William and Kate, and Elton knows how to throw a Hollywood bash as he does his Oscar party each year for AIDS, just the sort of charity thing they may be looking for.

‘Forrest Gump’ producer Steve Tisch is rumored to also be throwing a soiree for them. These people know how to throw $500,000 parties with more stars than the skies. But when you are in line to be King and Queen of England, it probably won’t impress. But it will be fun, and they are a fun-loving couple who love dancing, skiing, diving, etc.

More importantly it give the little Prince a nice way to meet Hollywood royalty in one place on behalf of BAFTA.

We want to see Michael Bay throw a party with flying cars and giant robots.You don’t that much at St. James Palace.

The couple are not going to stay at the Riot Hyatt on Sunset Blvd. They are expected to spend a night at the new Presidential bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Still being built, it’s a 5,500 sq foot bungalow that has three bedrooms, a private pool with underwater speakers, a waterfall and Jacuzzi.

Still, it’s no Buckingham Palace, or even those little dumps like Windsor Castle. They have running water there, too.

So close to the wedding, and coming after a spell in scenic Canada, it probably counts as an extension of their honeymoon.

There is talk that they may slip into Northern California,

Law enforcement agencies have already been notified and there was a funny quote from an L.A. police Capitan on TV. When asked if he thought the LAPD was up to the task of protecting the Royal Couple, he said “We have President Obama coming through here all the time. Plus we have Britney Spears and Lindsay Logan, so I think we can handle this.”

It will be Princess Kate’s first visit to the United States, though the Prince has been in America before.

The Royals will stop in California after a trip to Canada, where William will one day have his picture on Canadian money.
