The Hallmark Movie Channel is one of the fastest growing networks on television, and this year at Christmas was rated number one for 6 consecutive Sundays. Tomorrow – Saturday, January 29, Hallmark presents old “90210” friends Jason Priestly and Luke Perry’s “Goodnight for Justice”.
During a panel with journalists at Langham Hotel House during TCA, director Jason Priestly said he said he splits his time about 50/50 behind the camera and in front, but he may want to consider more acting lessons as he um’d quite a bit.
Perry, who came up with the idea of this western, plays Judge Goodnight in supposedly, the state of Wyoming, which is actually Canada. Director Jason Priestly said “the movie takes place in a much simpler time, and that is something that was very appealing for us. We shot the film in British Columbia, which is where I’m from. So for me, it was a great opportunity for me to actually go back to the province where I’m from, and I was able to actually utilize a lot of actors who I’ve known in the past”.
The good hearted judge is haunted by the memory of the day he lost his family to outlaws and his life takes him on the path to a second encounter. There are plenty of horses, cowboys, women and a High Noon shootout so other fans aren’t disappointed. The film wraps up very nicely at the end for the possibility for additional episodes. Perry said “I’ve sure got some stories in mind, and we have talked about it. I’ve spoken with the folks at the channel about doing a couple of other ones. And I have such a really casual, nice relationship with Barbara and the folks at Hallmark that they allow me to just come in and sit down and say, “You know, I thought this was a really neat story. What do you think about it?” And they’ve been very gracious, and they’ve extended me that hospitality again, and I went, and I spoke with them, and I told them a couple of other stories I’d like to do with this guy (indicating Jason Priestley), and it’s just a matter of scheduling.”
Hallmark held a beautifully appointed party event that evening at the Tournament of Roses house – chock full of Stars.

I would like to see this. Hopefully it will have a Wyoming feel to it being filmed in Canada -which i am curious as to why that location was secured for the shooting instead of the great state of Wyoming. It will be good to see Luke and Jason in the project and hope there will be more episodes. As always a quick detail with all pertinet information at the forefront gives the reader the info needed dealing with this project.
