HOLLYWOOD CA (Hollywood Today) 11/25/10 — -“My autobiography “Stop The Wheel – I Want To Get Off” will probably be my first and last book” said Susan Stafford, the original hostess on “Wheel Of Fortune”.
The book was launched before Thanksgiving among 200 invited guests, including Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Rosey Grier, Sean Kanan, James Van Patten, Kato Kaelin, Charlene Tilton and Game Show Kings Wink Martindale and Peter Marshall at London Hotel in West Hollywood. Gourmet food & champagne tasting was provided by 5-star Chef Gordon Ramsey. The biography features Susan’s life the last thirty years, and chronicles Stafford’s life in the Hollywood fast lane. –“The “The book is meant to be good holiday reading”, she said and shares inside details what makes the Hollywood wheel turn, and how she became the first woman ever nominated for an Emmy on a game show.
Susan Stafford continues:
-“Wheel of Fortune”, I started years ago at the age of 27 when I was testing with actor Cookie Burns from “77 Sunset Strip”. Back then I was doing a pilot for the Academy. After the casting they kept me, but choose Chuck Woolery as game show host”
-“ It takes a lot of time to write this book because there is a lot of things you don’t want to say, and a lot of things you must say”. The messages I have for my readers are:
“America needs help”,
“There is hope”,
“Don’t give up”,
“Stop the depression”, and
“Quit complaining and fight”.
Susan Stafford’s next project will be hosting the Teenage America Pageant:
-“I am delighted, and that means I will tour around America, starting this month in Palm Springs”
“Stop The Wheel – I Want to Get Off” features her decisions in life after turning letters for 7 1/2 years.
A few highlights to mention: Susan walked away from a $100,000 a year contract to work pro bono with cancer patients.
She also walked away from a million dollar divorce settlement and a starring role in “Beyond the Valley of The Dolls”, and the readers will find out why.
The book takes us in the end to her amazing trip to India to aid Mother Teresa and her nuns in their work with lepers.
