St.Louis,MO(Hollywood Today)9/18/2010—All over St. Louis this weekend are several quality and life-affirming events. On Friday night at Blueberry Hill’s Duck Room in the Loop and other venues, performers and fans attended the 4^th annual PLAY:stl Music Festival, which kicked off on Wednesday. Guests were entertained with a variety of music including indie, rock and jazz. Wristbands allow entrance to all venues and special events for $20. Panels throughout the weekend discuss the business, including booking, networking and when to ask for help. Panelists include an entertainment attorney from Husch Blackwell, sound engineers and artists themselves.

Joyce Meyer is a leader in spreading God’s Word, and September 16 – 18 Joyce Meyer Ministries’ Women’s Convention 2010 delves into what life would look like if you truly loved your life. Joining Ms. Meyer at the Edward Jones Dome is leadership expert John Maxwell and psychologist Dr. Caroline Leaf who will address 4 areas in which to improve your life: mind, mouth, moods and attitudes. Worship and music will, as always, play a large part in the experience.

The Great Forest Park Balloon Race festivities began Friday with the Balloon Glow at Central Field, with an invitation-only VIP reception hosted by Mayor Francis Slay. Guests enjoyed food, fired-up balloons and fireworks. The race, which follows today, Saturday, from noon-6pm, offers a little something for everyone with skydivers, a photo contest and the 20^th birthday celebration of the Energizer Bunny.
