Peace Talks Resume- Will It Happen In Our Lifetime

Middle East 2010 By: Eve Schwartz Los Angeles CA, (Hollywood Today) 09/02/10 – The first round of  latest in the battle that has lasted for the last 3,000 years of conflict.  The  Israeli- Palestinian peace talks resume after eighteen months of a halt. On the Eve of  the of the talks with Hamas killing four Israeli settlers including a pregnant women. ” The shooting will not stop the peace talks” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the last 24 ours a hundred and fifty Hamas man were arrested by in the West Bank by  Palestinian President Mahmoud.  President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Netanyahu, and Abbas has condemned the attack. The Palestinian country is divided into two different authorities, Abbas in the west bank, and Hamas in Gaza.  The peace talks does not include Hamas as they are opposed to any peace deal with Israel, and will not acknowledge its existence, they are a  considered a fanatic group, a proxy of Iran that has vowed to destroy Israel, further more Hamas has reportedly called Fatah- Abbas party  traitors for having talks with Israel. Israel has gained control over the disputed Palestinian territory after an attack by the Arab nations at year 1967.  In the 80is the Palestinian uprising started with throwing stones, by the 90is it escalated from stones to blowing up busses. Peace talks with Israel’s Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, and Palestinian leader  Yasser Arafat at year 1993,  resulted in the establishment of the Palestinian authority, and ended with the Rabin being shot by a fanatic,  which subsequently led to further escalation in the violence and to the Palestinian fighting with guns. Ehud Barak who currently serves as the minister of defense in Israel had the next round of peace talks when he served as the prime minister of the country at year 2000, the talks with Arafat has ultimately failed and led to further escalation of violence.  Ehud Barak called for re-election shortly after that and has lost to Ariel Sharon who remains in a coma, after suffering from a sudden stroke fairly immediately to signing a treaty to give the Palestinians their independence.  Sharon withdrew the military, and evacuated 10,000 Jewish settlers from their homes in Gaza at year 2006. From then on about 8,000 missiles were launched in to Israel.  Shortly after the start of the missiles rain,  Israel build a wall to separate between themselves and Gaza.  Israel has been giving the Palestinians tons and tons of humanitarian aid till this day.  In the winter of 2008 on offensive attack on Gaza from Israel took place with high casualties on the Palestinian side. Since then it has been fairly quiet. Know eighteen months later the next round of peace talks is starting. It remains to be seen  that the parties will resolve their difficult issues.
