Obama announces pull out

By: Eve Schwartz

Washington DC, (Hollywood Today) 09/01/10 — After nearly a decade of war in Iraq, President Barack Obama as promised got the majority of our troops back home, however the costly bloody war is not over.  With some of our support forces still deployed in Iraq,   ”We have removed almost 100,000 troops out of  Iraq, 4,400 soldiers fought and died, over and 1 million Americans served in Iraq — Better days lie ahead,”  according to Obama.

For some of the troops it is going from one hellhole to another, being transported into Afghanistan.  ”I see the same plan for Afghanistan, I ordered the deployment of additional troops, by next August will begin a transition to Afghan rule” said Obama.

As the people where we there to quell terrorism, or was it about the oil, and was it worth it?

Taliban and Al-Qaeda remains a threat to the world, the Iraqi people hopefully have a strong enough of an infrastructure to keep their country stabilized, Indeed, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates told the American Legion that the milestone doesn’t mean “all is, or necessarily will be, well in Iraq.” the war began under President George W. Bush with 90,000 troops in March 2003 and reached a high of 170,000 during the bloody surge in October 2007.

The cost of the war is in the trillions of dollars, $740 billion — far more than any of the original estimates.

The bad news is that in no means today troops withdrawal is an absolute win.  The Middle East is in no better shape today then it was in the beginning of the Iraqi war. the good news is that president Obama stood on his time line.
