HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 8/3/10 — Writer-editor-producer Stan Lee, best known as the co-creator of Spider-Man (Marvel Comics) said recently at Comic-Con.
”Yes, Neil Patrick Harris will continue to play his role in Activition’s Spider-Man videogame ”Shattered Dimensions”. The game will be out in stores September 7. Neil Patrick voiced the Spider-Man in the animated television series back in 2003. In the game, the players go through four different worlds of heroic action in big city and jungle, and take on the roles of four different Spider-Man. The worlds are called Amazing (web combating), Ultimate ( black-suited tendril attacks), 2099 ( gliding maneuvers) and Noir ( stealth moves).
Emmy award winning composer Jim Dooley has written the original score for this game, and Josh Keaton, Christopher Daniel Barnes and Dan Gilvezan are co-starring.
Stan Lee is recently working on a new movie & TV project with his company POW! Entertainment and BOOM! Studios, to be ready by late autumn 2010.
The three animated superhero characters will be “Soldier Zero” (out in October), tells the story of a wheelchair bound astronomy teacher, who finds himself in a freak accident, that bonds him with an alien weapon of war.Writer is Paul Cornell, and drawings by Super-Man artist Javier Pina.
“The Traveler” (out in November), features a mysterious new superhero with time-traveling powers battling the Split-Second Men , super-powered assassins from the future. Writer is Eisner Award nominee Mark Waid, and art by Amazing Super-Man artist Chad Hardin.
“Starborn”,(out in December), tells the story of a regular guy who discovers he is the heir to an intergalactic empire, putting him the in the center of war between five alien races. The story is written by iZombie’s writer Chris Robertson, and comic’s art by The X-Men’s artist Khary Randolph.
In 2009 Lee was awarded with both the Comic-Con Icon Award and later the same year a Metal of the Arts Award by President Bush.
This year AMC Theatres were presenting him and film director Edgar Wright, with the AMC Film Fanatics Award during the Blu-Ray & DVD launch of Starz’ “Spartacus”. It took place during Comic-Con at Stingaree Nightclub in San Diego.
Anchor Bay Entertainment , Starz’ home entertainment company have set the release date September 21st for their Blu-ray & DVD release of Spartacus: “Blood and Sand”. The pre-book will be out on the book shelves, August 25th.
Spartacus, first season, is a four – disc collection, which contains close to ten hours of footage, and uncut scenes.
UK actor Andy Whitfield is plays a convincing lead role as Spartacus, betrayed by the Romans, forced into jail and reborn as a Gladiator and legend.
It’s a classic tale the Republic’s most infamous rebel, torn between his homeland and the woman he loves. To win, Spartacus is condemned into the brutal world of arenas, where blood and death are entertainment for spectators.
Co-starring are John Hannah, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett, Nick E. Tarabay and Lucy Lawless.
