International talent competition names winners after searching the globe for the best talent, Rose Marielle Mamaclay of Philippines and Lianah Santa Ana of United States take top prizes

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 7/27/2010 – “This is the only truly Olympic-style talent competition ever created,” says World Championship of Performing Arts competition president Griff O’Neil. “Contestants from over 40 countries…vying for the gold plus $50,000 in scholarships awarded by the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts for Film and Television in New York.”

World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) has six categories of competition: dance, vocal, modeling, acting, instrumental and variety arts.  Each contestant is given sixty seconds to showcase his or her skills in the final competition. Entertainment industry executives from Hollywood, Nashville and New York serve as the judges.

Selections for official contestants were held in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and South Africa. The talent contest is the only worldwide event of its kind held annually that culminates in Hollywood. More than 75 talent scouts and national directors searched the globe for talent. The 14th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts finals took place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles from July 17th to July 25th.
