HOLLYWOOD CA (Hollywood Today) 04/12/10 —  Los Angeles Fashion Week is officially over, but fashion  launches of jewelry, vintage couture and cars are still going.

Renowned jewelry designer Robyne Robinson, a leading news anchor for FOX 9 News in Minneapolis, has been designing the Rox Minneapolis Jewelry for seven years now.

She made her LA launch this weekend at North Hollywood’s El Bar to present her Rox 2010 Spring Collection . It’s  a handmade jewelry line, made of semi-precious stones  in jade, amber and carnelian. and precious metals.

Six feet tall Robyne started out in the fashion industry as a model, at age fifteen.

“ I started making jewelry as a child” “People used to come up to me and ask how much the bracelet on my arm cost, and willing to pay for it”

“That’s when I realized I wanted to do jewelry design as a profession!”

“I  am still based in Minneapolis, and I sell to stores around the country, and April is my Los Angeles launch”

Robyne Robinson admits she is inspired by the artisans of Ancient Egypt:

“ As soon as I close down here in Los Angeles, I will go to Kolonaki, Greece in Europe” “It’s my second home, where I go on and off,  for the last seven years” “Athens is close to Egypt, where I travel to find many of my semi-precious stones”

“My inspiration is nature – the natural attraction to the earth underneath our feet, with a sensual Mediterranean touch ”               -“ I get stones anywhere I travel, and bring them back to incorporate with other stones,  I bought in Midwest or NY”

“I am looking for the unic lush look, when creating  bracelets, earrings and necklaces”

Among celebrity spotting you find Carolyn Hennessy from Cougartown, and Alice Greczyn from Lincoln Heights wearing her creations made of carnelian, goldstone and freshwater pearls.

Concours D’Elegance car show has arrived for the first year here in Los Angeles, at Greystone Mansion – but only for one day, April 11th 2010. The Concours D’Elegance is best known for its week long show,  in Monterey in August.

Greystone mansion was built in 1928, and was the home for the Doheny family for twenty seven years. Today it’s a historic landmark, with its ground open to the public for tours, events and shopping arts & antics.

It was a cold and rainy inauguration day at Greystone Mansion Estate, which featured a classic car show of  100 antic cars & award show, and  food stations by Lawry’s steakhouse, Spago,  Porta Via, Via Alloro ,  Il Pastaio and Coupa Café’.

Mayor of Beverly Hills,  Jimmy Delshad  was the proud host, together with city council Nancy Krasne.                                                                                        He thanked the Greystone Mansion volunteers to make Concours D’Elegance possible, and confirmed next years’ date,  April 10, 2011.

Elizabeth Mason Couture from The Paper Bag Princess, presented both her own 2010 Spring Collection, and The Paper Bag Princess Collection in the Formal Gardens outside area. All gowns came from her store in Beverly Hills. She says:

-“The Paper Bag Princess is the collection that reflects on all different eras of cars, from the Concourse D’Elegance car show.”

“Start from the 1920’s time era, until today” “I choose a spring pallet of colors,  such as pale pink and cream – all to match each other”

From her collection on the runway you will find, Vicky Tiel 1980’s pink silk satin cocktail dress with rosettes on shoulders, Costum 1930’s white crepe bias gown, and Elizabeth Mason 1950’s style cream embroidered cream strapless dress with cropped jacket.

Among the award winning car models at this years’ Concourse D’Elegance Greystone were,  pre-war American Style, Cadillac V-16 Sport Phaeton (1931),  post-war European Iso Grifo (1974),  Porsche Carrera Cabriolet (1959), and post-war British Jaguar XK120 (1951)

Tiffany jewelry sponsored the prizes of the winners.
