LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Today) 3/21/10 — VIP fashionistas, gorgeous actresses and assorted young beautiful Hollywood types were rampant at the Flagship Store opening of designer line Odd Molly on trendy Robertson Boulevard. Timed to be part of the festivities for Fashion Week LA, the store opening was hosted by Supermodel Helena Christiansen for Odd Molly co-founders and designers Per Holknekt, Karin Jimfelt-Ghatan and Christer Andersson.
The party lured a roster of young hip Hollywood celebrities including Mena Suvari, Lake Bell, Catt Sadler, Lydia Hearst, Brett Anderson, Christina Tillman, Lily Collins, Tara Subkoff, Izabella Miko, Danny Houston, and Ann Anka. Kelly Osbourne attended and sort of stole the show with her Hollywood 40’s glam look and an intriguing silver pink rinse in her hair. She looked adorable.
The presence of Heidi Klum, grand mahatma of fashion, super model and star of her own Lifetime Network hit show, Project Runway, gave the opening real cache. Having been pregnant most of the seasons of Project Runway, it is amazing how gorgeous Klum remains. Ready to answer questions about her frequent pregnancies, Klum quipped that she had about twenty kids by now and added very entertainingly, “it’s all my husband’s fault!.”
Six very young models stood at the epicenter of the party on an elevated platform, layered in Odd Molly clothing and fingerless gloves, they were sort of reminiscent of cast members in a Charles Dickens’ play, it was ragamuffin goes lalaland.
Stunning actress Nathasha Henstridge couldn’t have put it better, or more diplomatically. “It’s very specific clothing”, she said, while dressed as simply as someone so beautiful need be dressed; tight jeans, white t-shirt and a great looking jacket.
After checking out Odd Molly’s website, it was a surprise to see clothing that would appeal to a more sophisticated buyer, nevertheless, the owners of Odd Molly know their client in this town, it will undoubtedly be the young trendy girls who roam the shops on Robertson in quest of the “latest look”. There’s nothing odd about Molly’s business sense.
