Crazy Oscar spoof making waves

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 3/13/10 –  Oscar nominated director James Cameron has nothing to do with this project. However, director Jonathan Heap and James Hickox do. What’s that got to do with the Oscars? Well, they and a team of talented artists have put together a very humorous and often side-splitting show in honor of the “lost” categories normally not shown in the award show. The comedy team calls them selves OMI Films (Over Medicated Idiots) and their first production is called Oscar Meltdown 2010. You can find it on you tube at the following link:

They have split the show into four segments each one coming out a few days after the next.

The creators, Heap, Hickox, Brian Bennett, Michelle Johnson, and Johnny Krump appear in many of the skits themselves but are joined by a bevy of talent old and new. Some of the cameos include academy award nominee John Savage, Nick Mancuso, Gedeon Burkhard(Inglorious Basterds), Alex Desert(Becker, Swingers) Robert R Shafer(The Office) and a delicious and delightful groupof young starlets including Frida Farrell(Contract Killers) and supermodel Amanda Fields(Project Runway, Launch my Line).

The group of actors, writers, and directors all gathered

for fun in the name of comedic creativity. “There was absolutely no pressure. Everyone involved was free to be as silly and outrageous as they wanted to be. We have had a lot of interest from other artists to participate in our next show, which will be completely different.” co-creator Brian Bennett.
