Iraq war drama takes Academy Award for best original screenplay

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 3/7/2010 – “I was a reporter back from Iraq who thought this story might make a movie,” says Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal. “I would like to dedicate this to the troops…and my father. He passed away a month ago.”
Other Academy Award nominees for Writing Original Screenplay include Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino, The Messenger by Alessandro Camon & Oren Moverman, A Serious Man by Joel Coen & Ethan Coen, Up by Bob Peterson and Pete Docter with story by Pete Docter, Bob Peterson, and Tom McCarthy.
