LAS VEGAS (Hollywood Today) 2/23/10 –The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, (AIAS) and Independent Film Channel, (IFC) will bring the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards to television on Friday, February 26, 2010. The awards were presented in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Resort and Casino on February 13th, and recognize the year’s best games, computer games and online entertainment and the people who have contributed to the interactive entertainment industry. Comedian and actor Jay Mohr hosted the special event for the 2nd year in a row, he himself being a big gamer. The 30 minute special airs on IFC at 10pm and the full program is available on IFC.com.
The AIAS was founded in 1996 to promote and recognize outstanding achievements in interactive arts and sciences. The Interactive Achievement Awards, (IAA) have honored these accomplishments since 1996 and are the only peer based awards, voted on by members of the Academy’s Peer Panels and game makers from International Game.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, (Sony Computer Entertainment America) took center stage, winning an impressive 10 awards. The 3rd winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Douglas Lowenstein of Entertainment Software Association.
