Love and War in Hollywood

Amada Seyfried & Channing Tatum Love Rain On Me
By Jeffrey Jolson
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 2/7/10 — “Dear John” won the War for No. 1 at the weekend box office over Avatar as the film re-upped with another war-related film.
Dear John wrote home for the love and war story about a soldier who falls in love but re-enlists for his call for duty after 9/11 and he loses her.
The oddest thing about the backstory is he met her when he dives into the ocean to rescue her purse. Correct me, but I do not dive into angry seas to rescue a girl’s Maybelline.
This is the third major movie recently about war, including Avatar and Hurt Locker. The news has all the real drama of war and there is no love in the eyes of these victims.
Avatar took in another $24M for a record $630M domestic box office. John Travolta’s Paris with Love romanced $8 million for No. 3 position. Mel Gibson’s Edge of Darkness had a little more light with $7 million for a $29M total, barely enough to pay Gibson’s salary, at least in the past.
The Tooth Fairy put another $7M under the pillow for Duane Johnson.
