Kings Of Leon Record of Year; Zac Brown Best New Artist

HOLLYWOOD.CA(Hollywood Today)2/1/2010–Would the music industry go Gaga over this year’s Madonna wannabe? Would they sway to Beyoncé? Would the race go to the Swift? You Oughta Know. None of the above for Record of the Year—a trophy Kings Of Leon won for “Use Somebody.”
Not that Beyoncé went away empty-handed, hauling a mere 6 Grammys back to her limo, including Song of the Year, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it).” No big deal—only 6 of the 10 categories in which she was nominated. Only a record for the most Grammys won by a female recording artist in a single evening.
Taylor Swift didn’t do so bad herself, taking 4 Grammys home—and, oh yeah, snatching album of the year away from Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas and the Dave Matthews Band for “Fearless”—only the bestselling album in years, ringing up sales of 5.4 million copies—an incredible feat in the mp3 era.
Zac Brown Band bested its competition–Keri Hilson, MGMT, Silversun Pickups. The Ting Tings—to walk off with Best New Artist.

The world, of course, was all @twitter: “The Grammys was a reminder of why I love the entertainment business. Full of surprises and staged greatness. Oxymoronic,” tweeted grungecake @imee_b. But not everyone went to the party: “Seems I didn’t miss much, from the way y’all talking,” tweeted brookswood.
