HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 8/10/09 — The night was afire with celebrities at the DVD release party for the acclaimed film, Manhattanites. Talented personalities from across the entertainment industry gathered at the popular West Hollywood club Area to celebrate the release of the film.
Amid the flashing cameras and red carpet was Oscar-nominated actress Sally Kirkland. Also strolling down the red carpet was Kate Linder, who earned a star on the Walk of Fame for her role in The Young and the Restless.
Continuing the appearance of celebrities was internationally
recognized actress, Pamela Bach-Hasslehoff, who may be best-remembered for her role in Baywatch and multiple appearances in a group of television shows. Also attending was humanitarian and Royal European family member, Imperial Countess Madeline Walderdorff, known recently for her appearance on the CBS show Josh & JB in the Industry.
Catherine Andrews attended the event with both her son and daughter. Catherine is a multi-talented artist, famous for her work on canvas and her futuristic Green Echo Architectural designs.
Rubbing elbows with some of Hollywood’s elite was Catherine’s son, Kristos Andrews, a top-skateboarder, who may have shown some of these celebrities how to properly “grind” down the red carpet.
Catherine’s daughter, Celeste Fianna, is a highly successful model and actress. Fianna’s work includes an appearance on Josh & JB in the industry, and a collection of commercial work.
Gramma Funk, highly popular vocalist and songwriter, also took a stroll down the red carpet. Gramma Funk was made famous for her vocals on “I see you Baby”, a hit-single. Robert Girdina arrived to support the movie. Not a stranger to film, Giardina recently co-starred with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Christian Slater in the movie, Lies and Illusions.
But even with the impressive turnout of silver-screen legends, extreme sports athletes, and royal family members, the release party was still all about Manhattanites.
The film is an adaptation of Roger Newcomb’s popular radio soap opera, Scripts & Scruples. Directed by Gregori J. Martin, Manhattanites takes the audience through an emotional ride of love triangles, heated confrontations, and all the drama that one would expect from a film inspired by a radio soap opera.
The cast is certainly capable of tackling such a feat, including such actors as Aiden Turner (All my Children), Ilene Kristen (One Life to Live) and Forbes March (One Life to Live). With such a cast and engrossing story, the movie promises to be a journey through the complexity of human emotion. Manhattanites is now available for purchase on DVD at the films website, manhattanitesthemovie.com.
