Jackman one of Endeavor's x-factors in merger

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 4/25/09 — The William Morris-Endeavor merger, producing the new company named WME Entertainment, will be announced on Monday, according to an individual close to the situation, reported The Wrap.

WMA, from Al Jolson to the Rolling Stones — and every movie star in between — has been a force in the industry since it began. Endeavor, which though younger, swept up major-name clients such as Matt Damon, Robert DeNiro, Ben Affleck, Tina Fey after its storied launch as a break-off from ICM, has about as many cards on the table, if not the history.

Together they will represent perhaps the most formidable name name in representation since the CAA run in the 80s when that ten-percentery ran all.

The William Morris board met on Tuesday of this week to consider the merger; by Friday night the deal was done.

The merger of the two talent agencies will create a new force in Hollywood at a time of uncertainty and rapid transformation. The successful conclusion of the deal represents a significant achievement on the part of William Morris leaders Jim Wiatt and Dave Wirtschafter, and Endeavor head Ari Emanuel. (LBN)
