Angela Suleman says Nadya is reckless to have 14 children
By Gayl Murphy
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 2/9/09 – In what is one of the most jaw-dropping stories of the decade: When 33-year old single mom Nadya Suleman, mother of six gave birth to octuplets late last month by in-vitro fertilization, her mother’s first reaction was “To have them all is unconscionable.”
And now the elder Suleman, a retired Bellflower, CA teacher is sharing more than just her gut reaction with the media. Suleman started by saying, “She (Nadya) really, really has no idea what she’s doing to her children.”
Neighbors are already protesting outside her house, saying they don’t want their tax money spent on the woman and her multi-children benefits.
Mrs. Suleman said Nadya, who lives with her and her husband in their small 3 bedroom home, contributes no money to the support of her own children. Eight people – soon to be 16 – will be cramped in that house and fed in shifts, according to Radarlonline.
When asked how she thought her daughter, now a mother of 14, would cope this many children, Angela said, “I really don’t know. I’m really tired of taking care of those six. I need her to really think of what she’s gonna do. How’s she going to provide for all of these children?”
One reporter had a look in to the house, describing the interior of the home as “filthy, with food on the walls.”
With regards to the $168,000 in disability benefits that Nadya was awarded from the state of California as the result of a work-related injury in 1999, Mom said that was a newsflash to her. “I didn’t hear that she received money from her insurance, she never told me. I’ve never seen any money not for a house payment or feeding the kids.” In vitro fertilization treatments typically can cost about $12,000 each and Nadya has had seven.
Angela also spilled the beans on children’s baby daddy, revealing that Nadya turned her boyfriend into a ’sperm donor’ for all 14 kids, but refused to marry him. “He was in love with her and wanted to marry her, but Nadya wanted to have children on her own. She was determined to have kids. Nadya first became pregnant when she was 16, but miscarried because her fallopian tubes were blocked.”
These heated comments from Angela are adding fuel to the growing controversy that has already sparked an investigation by the California Medical Board into the circumstances surrounding implantation of six embryos into a woman that already has six children. And how Nadya will cope with all this? Angela says, “I don’t know.”
But what Angela does know is, she and her husband Ed, Nadya’s father, begged one doctor not to implant any more embryos in their daughter who already had six children. But Nadya found another doctor to implant six embryos, and two split, resulting in total of eight new babies. That doctor’s decision to perform the in vitro has left the grandmother fuming. “I’m really angry about that,”
And she’s also her angry over Nadya’s claim she was raised in a dysfunctional family and was lonely as a child. “We raised her in a loving family and her father always spoiled her. The truth is that Nadya hasn’t worked since she started having her children, while Ed and I battled to pay her bills.”
“Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I lost a house because of it and now I’m struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there’s children’s clothing piled all over the house.”
Angela told the media, she wasn’t at the octuplets’ birth because she was looking after the other six children. “But I saw the octuplets when they were two days old. They were so tiny and fragile, with bright purple skin, I was afraid to touch them but they’re all doing well.”
“Nadya has given them all Biblical names. Seven of them are dark-haired, but one, Noah, shows my side of the family. He looked so cute with his purple skin and bright yellow hair.”

This woman, the daughter, is a whack job…

Not one penny of taxpapers money should be given to this woman. Let her figure out how to work to support all these children or give them up to homes where they can be supported and raised with love and care. She is not worthy to have even one child.

There are a lot of people who should hang their arrogant heads in shame over this. The moral of the story is, if you want puppies for Xmas, go to a California fertility clinic.

The only person who is worse than the mother is the grandmother. Way to join the pileon on your own daughter – the time to start questioning her choices was BEFORE started bringing innocent children into the world, not AFTER there are 14 hungry mouths to feed. If you wanted to take a stand against her, why didn’t that happen 5, 6, 7 years ago? What an idiot.

The grandmother is the one raising the kids there, not Nadya. So much for her giving her life for her kids. More like her kids giving her the celebrity attention she craves. The kids are props for her idea of herself as Angelina Jolie light.
What a freak. I hope the kids are taken away from her and given to sane people who will love and raise them responsibly. This woman wouldn’t know responsible from her real lips.

Both the physician and the “so-called” mother need psychiatric help. The physician should have sanctions from the AMA. Why octuplets for her? The hope of money and getting her 15 minutes of fame. Both should be denied. Give children to loving couples having a hard time conceiving.

The woman is obiviously a nut job. She has no maternal instincts whatsoever. Her only need was to be big with child and have doctors taking care of her. She is sick.

As an adoptee who was permanently separated from my four older siblings four months after my birth and one month after our mother died, I can tell you that splitting up siblings is a very bad idea. Permanent, closed and sealed adoption is NOT a solution! YES, this situation is a mess and the mother needs psychiatric help, but her children will be in for a miserable life, too. Taking the kids away as punishment is not a solution, but providing physical, medical, housing, and food are critical needs.
Legal guardianship, foster care and sibling visitation should be set up to help everyone. Unless someone donates an apartment complex. Do not put these kids on a fast track to be adopted-out. Please, do not separate these siblings. They are not to blame.
Where was social services and child protective services from the beginning? A minister?
This country is too reckless. This is also a reflection on our society’s values. Shame on us all: want a kid, just go get a perm donor! Kids languishing in foster care? Who cares, I want MY genes in my kid. That’s a pathetic message to us adoptees. We already know we are second-choice.
If that sperm donor/father has signed papers as required of sperm donors to “relieve” him of any monetary support or legal right to be a father in a social sense, too, then this is a very disgusting family these kids have been born into.
The doctor should be stripped of his medical license. How about forcing him to work for no pay to take care of all of these children? HE IS RESPONSIBLE, too.

the situation is very unpleasant. however, what is important at this juncture is the protection and overall well being of this innocent children. i sincerely pray that this kids are well catered for and there mother and all those involved in this insensitivity be punished so that a repeat of this mess will never resurface in our lifetime. thank you.

My heart goes out to the babies and we all pray they are somehow well taken care of. There are so many people who would love to have children and can’t and would love to adopt some or all of these babies. She can’t take care of the children she has but I notice she can change her looks with botox, etc, as well as get her nails done and who knows what else she is ordering/buying when it comes to expensive cosmetics and the like. The doctor who did perform the procedure to impregnate her should have to support these eight children!
They are both totally beyond stupidity and moral responsibility.
