Danny Trejo brings ‘Vengeance’ to AFM

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/06/08 – As the 29th American Film Market opened, highly anticipated world premieres include Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken in ‘The Maiden Heist’, Timothy Hutton in ‘The Killing Room’, and Forrest Whitaker in ‘Powder Blue’.
“I’m here at American Film Market with ‘Vengeance’, my latest film,” says actor/director Danny Trejo. “I come to the market every year,” A child drug addict and criminal, while serving time in San Quentin Trejo won the lightweight and welterweight boxing titles. Usually playing the role of a tough criminal, Trejo has acted in more than a hundred films, including ‘Grindhouse’.
Founded in 1981, AFM is a global marketplace where film production and distribution deals are made on both completed films as well as those that haven’t even started shooting yet. In eight days, over $800 million in deals will be forged. It’s held annually at the Loew’s Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
AFM is produced by the Independent Film and Television Alliance, the trade association representing the world’s producers and distributors of independent motion pictures and television. During the next week, 513 motion pictures in 35 languages including 102 world premieres and 375 market premieres will be screened.
