HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 11/4/08 — The highly anticipated Hollywood Reporter/Billboard Film & TV Music conference kicks off for two days – November 13-14 at Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles. There will be some great panels and surprises. The opening day will feature a conversation between legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott and one of his main composers Marc Streitenfeld (“American Gangster” and “Body of Lies”). It will be moderated by ASCAP’s Randy Grimmet, and they will discuss the director/composer relationship, and how to creatively craft successful scores and soundtracks.

Serman-born Streitenfeld just won the “Discovery Of The Year” awards. “Body Of Lies” marks Streitenfeld’s third score in a row and eighth consecutive collaboration with Scott.

Now in its 7th year, this very unique conference offers attendees the opportunity to network, share their music and learn from more than 500 of today’s top executives at record labels, advertising agencies, video game companies, movie studios, TV networks, and publishing houses.

Another director/composer relationship will be discussed by Ken Kwapis, composer Cliff Eidelman, and Grammy-winning producer/music supervisor Danny Bramson.

There will also be a panel featuring the top music supervisors, the secrets behind TV Music, and a Q&A with veteran composer Hans Zimmer, who will be receiving The Maestro award. On November 14, the award winning songwriter Diane Warren will receive the Film & TV Music career achievement award. She will be honored for her overall career achievements in Film and TV Music and her continuing influence on the industry. One of the highlights of the two day conference will be when filmmaker David Fincher will discuss the arc of his career, from directing ground breaking music videos for Madonna and The Rolling Stones, to his upcoming major film “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button” starring Brad Pitt.
