LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Today) 10/15/08 - “Gossip Girl” Blake Lively’s actor father, Ernie, is expected to make a full recovery from back and lung injuries sustained during an auto accident Monday, Us Magazine has reported. Elaine, the Lively matriarch, told the publication that he was forced into an embankment when he swerved to avoid another vehicle.
“Blake is here; the whole family is here, and yesterday it didn’t look good. But, thankfully, now we have been told he is going to make a full recovery. It’s all been taken care of,” Lively’s mother told Us Magazine
Lively, 21, and her father, 61, appeared together in 2005’s big-screen adaptation of literary work “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and its 2008 sequel, also as child and parent.
Penn Badgley, Lively’s current real-life boyfriend and former beau on The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” made a different kind of news with his fair-haired squeeze Tuesday by appearing in an anti-Republican ad for MoveOn.org. In it, Badgley, Lively and a group of teenagers appeal to their parents not to vote for John McCain in the presidential election, warning that a vote for the Republican Party could have dire and lingering consequences.
The ad, directed by Doug Liman, is a tongue-in-cheek satire of anti-drug and anti-alcohol TV campaigns and features Badgley treating a “Drill Baby Drill” McCain hat like contraband and Lively urging her folks to call her for a ride home should they find themselves “considering voting for McCain” at the polls.
The clip claims to be sponsored by “Partnership for a McCain-Free White House,” a spoof of Partnership for a Drug-Free America, a non-profit known for a variety of anti-drug spots aired since 1986.
