‘Hannah Montana’ star will turn 16 in November

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Hollywood Today) 10/7/08 – Disney’s multi-talented cash cow, Miley Cyrus, celebrated her upcoming 16^th birthday in style Sunday, closing down Disneyland for approximately 5,000 guests, according to the Associated Press.  Fireworks, the park’s trademark rides and performances by the “Hannah Montana” actress distinguished the kid-friendly blowout from more common sweet sixteens.

In addition to Cyrus’ father and co-star, Billy Ray, several celebrities, including David Archuleta, Tyra Banks, Steve Carell, Cindy Crawford, Jennie Garth and Jennifer Love Hewitt, attended the birthday bash, AP reported.  Fellow Disney star Demi Lovato also made the VIP list, silently squelching media-fueled rumors of a feud between the two celebrities and their respective best friends, Selena Gomez and Mandy Jiroux.

Despite an exclusive red carpet (actually, purple, in honor of Cyrus’ favorite color), commoners who purchased $250 tickets in advance through Disney’s Web site were permitted to mix with the gathered glitterati.

Cyrus, who was actually born Nov. 23, 1992, is best known for playing a disguised pop star, Hannah Montana, on the Disney Channel’s eponymous sitcom.  By day, her character lives a normal life sans her alter ego’s blonde wig.  The first theatrical film based on the show is due for a big-screen release in April.
