Billy Joel and Donald Trump among celebrity guests

NEW YORK (Hollywood Today) 10/6/08 – Sound-bite wedding bells are ringing! Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky finally tied the knot after 8 years of common life. The radio host and his model/actress girlfriend pronounced their vows on Friday night in front of 180 guests. The location of the high-profile ceremony (held secret to all until the day before) turned out to be the prestigious Manhattan restaurant Le Cirque.
“The Howard Stern Show” and its television offspring “Howard TV” are famous for hosting strippers, porn stars and other controversial figures. The entertainment program’s recipe is a mix of phone pranks, ridicule, news and gossip—a successful formula, although part of his audience has complained that the talk-show presenter has become less funny since Jackie Martling—former cast member and head writer—left the morning show several years ago.
With or without “Jackie the Joke Man,” Stern seems very content with his new situation. “Things change, love happens, love blossoms,” the media wild child told David Letterman during an appearance on the Late Show.
Among the couple’s many celebrity friends that attend the party were real estate mogul Donald Trump, comedian Joan Rivers and TV journalist Barbara Waters. The celebrants were treated to a flood of wine and champagne, along with a meal of tuna tataki, white truffles, striped bass and caviar.
The ceremony was officiated by Kelly Ripa’s husband, actor Mark Consuelos, who became an ordained minister especially for the event. Piano man Billy Joel sang “The Stranger” for the happy pair. Concerning his friend’s decision to wed, Joel told the New York Post, “I thought it would never happen.”
Many others were agreeably surprised by this (real) union, after Stern made an on-air prank marriage announcement last year. This is the groom’s second shot at holy matrimony, his first marriage to Alison Berns having ended in divorce in 2000. Alison is the mother of his three children, as well as the radio personality’s inspiration for the film “Private Parts.”
Ostrosky made her bridal registry a link to donate to “The Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons,” where the couple summer. She walked down the aisle in a white chiffon gown with cutaway back and sides.
“I can’t wait to marry Howard,” the joyful bride told Newsday before the ceremony, adding, “I know, everyone laughs!” The pair’s wedlock may be no joke, but it could be just what Howard needs to put smiles back on his listeners’ faces.

Jackie left the show many years ago–not last year–and it’s never been the same. Thank God he has his own show on Sirius now, he is funnier than ever and has a huge audience.

Jackie left the show about 7 years ago, and the show has gained most of it’s popularity and landed the Sirius deal in that time, thanks to the addition of Artie lange.

Yes, Jackie’s been long gone, and that has been nothing but good news for the show. It’s MUCH better now that Artie is on and Howard moved to Sirius. And now, with the merger, it looks like his audience to grow as high as 18 million – worldwide. Terrestrial radio sucks. Go satellite. Go Howard.
