TV stars shine bright on the red carpet at CAA Emmy Awards at Nokia Theatre

a-dscn1863.jpgHOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 9/13/08 – Tom Hanks, Sarah Silverman, and other of Hollywood’s biggest TV stars graced the red carpet in the streets of downtown Los Angeles today for the Emmys Creative Arts Awards.

“How cool is it to be here,” said Seth Green to Hollywood Today. The CAAs are being held at the Emmy’s new home, the Nokia Theatre.

‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris and ‘Scrubs’ star Sarah Chalke are hosting the 2008 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. “Everyone knows how great Neil and Sarah are as actors,” says Jones, Jr. “Now they’ll get the opportunity to see how fearless they are as live hosts.”

a-dscn1874.jpgJon Cryer, Jennifer Beals, Seth Green and Sharon Gless represent a generation of TV’s most famous stars as presenters and nominees. “I’m going to win,” says Gless. “I hope it’s me.” The stars were ushered into the theatre down a 300 foot long red carpet lined with hundreds of paparazzi.

“There really isn’t anything we wouldn’t consider doing,” says Mike Rowe, the host/victim of ‘Dirt Jobs with Mike Rowe.’ The realty series host tries jobs on TV that most people never knew existed and wouldn’t want to do if they did, such as cleaning sewers. “All of our ideas are typically generated by our viewers. If it’s legal we’ll consider it.”

a-dscn1869.jpgSpecial guest Lassie avoided the screams of the press and was ushered through a private backdoor reserved for the elite. ‘Sopranos’ star James Gandolfini ran away from the press, avoiding interviews and photos. “He does that all the time,” commented a reporter. Like a true mobster, the actor Gandolfini avoids interviews and he’s not even in the mob.  Who says life doesn’t imitate art?

Many of the stars discussed who they hoped would win the upcoming presidential elections. It’s Obama in a landslide with liberal Hollywood.

Lee Miller and Steve Venezia are Executive Producers of the Creative Arts show.
Spike Jones Jr. returns to produce the show for the fourteenth year.

a-dscn1859.jpgThe CAAs are being taped at the Nokia Theatre and will broadcast next Saturday, before Sunday’s live broadcast of the Primetime Emmy’s on ABC. The show will air as a 2-hour special on E! Entertainment Television on Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m.

For the record, it’s “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe” and NOT “America’s Dirtiest Jobs.”

    Thank you.

Rather disrespectful to Mike Rowe. The show gets nominated for an Emmy and you can’t get the title correct?!

Gotta love it… what a reliable site for entertainment news if they can’t get the name of a show right.

    Who’s Mike Rowe?

was the “walk down the red carpet” taped before the 4-6:00 time slot on Sunday, in otherwords, after the Emmys show was tapped, or were both taped earlier? If so, how does one find out that the walks will not be before the scheduled showtimes? thank you, noel
