HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 8/11/08 — It’s beginning to sound like a broken record.  Kyle Busch has won his 8th NASCAR Sprint Cup race this year, increasing his championship point lead over Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. The road course at Watkins Glen was this week’s venue for the NASCAR tour.  Watkins Glen has always been a demanding road course for Indy cars as well as NASCAR.  There was high speed passing all afternoon, and the race lead changed at least a score.  The yellow flags were few, but when they came out, it was some serious carnage on the track.  On lap 83, 10 cars were involved at one of the faster parts of the track, another yellow flag was caused by Ryan Newman on lap 78.  Dale Jr., Juan Pablo Montoya and Jimmie Johnson were just a few of the drivers that led the race.  But in the end, it was Kyle Busch with Tony Stewart on his tail for 2nd place.  Aussie, Marcos Ambrose finished a season best 3rd place with Juan Pablo Montoya in 4th, who had the lead until his last pit stop, moving him out of the top three.

It’s beginning to sound like a broken record.  Yes, déjà vu all over again.  Once again, Scott Dixon had a typical racing weekend.  He took the pole position for the Meijer Indy 300 in Kentucky, and then went on to win the race, his 6th of the year, and continues to maintain his series points lead for the championship.  Danica Patrick crashed on Saturday’s practice run, forcing her to use her back up car, and having her start from the 23rd position.

On lap 160, Milka Duno’s car slammed into the wall.  She said that she felt something break in the front end, causing her to lose control of her car.  On lap 199 of this 200 lap race, Scott Dixon was able to draft and pass Helio Castroneves on the final turn to win the race by .553 of a second.  Attrition was heavy in today’s race with only 17 cars finishing the race.

Both of these racing series, NASCAR and INDY CAR are becoming reminiscent of the bygone days  of 7 time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher. It got to the point where at the start, Schumacher had already won the race, and the rest of the field was racing for 2nd place. Now it’s Kyle Busch or Scott Dixon, again.

Upcoming schedules are:

FORMULA 1, Valencia, Spain on August 24.

NASCAR, Michigan International Speedway on August 17.

INDY CAR, Infineon Raceway, California on August 24
