“Mini Me” actor Verne Troyer claims sex tape with girlfriend stolen, sold to TMZ, gets initial TRO and keeps climbing

LOS ANGELES, CA (Hollywood Today) 6/29/08 — “No comment” states TMZ, regarding a sex tape clip they possess of Verne Troyer, 39, and girlfriend Renae Shrider, 22, getting their groove on. Troyer filed suit against TMZ, porn broker Kevin Blatt and video distributor SugarDVD for $20 million. ‘”The tape was stolen,” said the little person actor Troyer. The suit claims copyright and trademark infringement, violation of privacy and right to publicity.
According to Troyer, the tape was allegedly stolen several months ago. A 20 second webisode clip of Troyer and Shrider was posted on TMZ’s website on Wednesday. TMZ claims that SugarDVD offered Blatt $100,000 for the full length tape. Blatt is no stranger to distributing sex tapes of celebrities. Blatt was the promoter for the Paris Hilton home made sex tapes in 2003.
The 2 foot, 8 inch tall, Troyer, is seeking an immediate injunction to have the sex tapes removed permanently from the TMZ website and not made available for distribution. On Friday evening, Troyer’s lawyer, Tracy Rane, was granted a temporary restraining order by a federal judge.
The suit states, “no legitimate public interest is served by revealing, broadcasting, or distributing the contents (sex tape).” Troyer does confirm he and his girlfriend made the sex tape in the privacy of his apartment. The temporary restraining order prevents TMZ from showing additional clips of the tape and selling the amateur video to porn distributors.
Troyer’s motion to prevent the tape’s distribution, “demonstrated that he will suffer irreparable harm to his reputation,” wrote U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez.
The TMZ website redirects you to their homepage should you attempt to view the video clip.
Troyer became famous for his role as “Mini Me,” in two of the ‘Austin Powers’ comedic films starring Mike Myers. He has a starring role in the Mike Myers-Jessica Alba film, ‘The Love Guru.’ Troyer has made national commercials and often appears as a guest on radio stations throughout the country.
There was the sex tape of smokin’ hottie Pamela Anderson, there was the sex tape of cutie Parris Hilton, and now Kevin Blatt and TMZ want to distribute a porno of Verne Troyer. What?
There is seriously something wrong with this picture.
For the sake of the human race, we beg TMZ and Kevin Blatt to burn that tape and never ever ever show anyone what may be the grossest porn around or at least the weirdest.
