If you are new to the game and looking for irons you are going to want what is called forgiving irons. These are designed for people who are less accurate at striking. The three best forgiving irons I know of are the Taylor Made LT, Callway fusion wide-sole, and the Nike Slingshot. As far as drivers and putters go that is all about swing style and personal preference. Trying out different kinds are the best way to go.

Buy the irons as a set and woods, wedges, putter, driver separately. For irons you should get game improvement irons. The soles on those are just right for beginners intermediate golfers. If you get super game improvement clubs, chances are you will out grew them fast. I out grow mine in 6 months. You don’t need to buy high end stuff. As for brand, if you go with any of the top brands you should be good. They are make affordable clubs. Myself, I like King Cobra, Callaway, and Adams golf. Hope this helps.
