HOLLYWOOD TODAY, CA (Hollywood Today) 6/12/08 – - “It’s a form of lung cancer and he’s dealing with it,” said Paul Newman’s business partner, A.E. Hotchner. Newman (83) has been rumored to be battling cancer for the past two years.
Newman’s fragile health is showing up in photographs. Although the Oscar winning actor appeared at the super bowl of auto racing, the Indianapolis 500 for practice events, he did not appear for the grand finale race on Memorial Day weekend.
Newman had been planning to direct a play ‘Of Mice and Men’ in his hometown of Connecticut last month, however he has dropped those plans.
Newman’s partner Hotchner co-founded Newman’s Own salad dressing in 1980. The company has since turned to making multiple food products, from lemonade to dog food. Charitable donations have exceeded $200 million.
Paul Newman is known for his indifference towards the Hollywood celebrity scene. Choosing to keep himself from the media, rarely giving interviews, or autographs to fans. He lets his charity ‘Hole in the Wall Camp’ speak about who he is. Newman’s Own donates 100% of it’s income after taxes and expenses to charity.
“He’s battling,” said Hotchner. “He seems to be going through a good period right now.”
Newman has been nominated nine times for an Academy Award, winning once for best actor in the film, ‘The Color of Money.’ Newman’s most memorable films are ‘The Sting’ and ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,’ with Robert Redford as the Sundance Kid. Redford is noted for starting the Sundance Film Festival and naming it after his character.
Newman’s agent has been reported deny that Newman is suffering from lung cancer and that he is “doing nicely.” This contradict Newman’s partner saying the actor was suffering “with a form of cancer.” However Hotchner later stated he was reported as being misquoted by AP. “The AP misquoted me. I have no knowledge of Mr. Newman being treated for any illness.”

Buy the irons as a set and woods, wedges, putter, driver separately. For irons you should get game improvement irons. The soles on those are just right for beginners intermediate golfers. If you get super game improvement clubs, chances are you will out grew them fast. I out grow mine in 6 months. You don’t need to buy high end stuff. As for brand, if you go with any of the top brands you should be good. They are make affordable clubs. Myself, I like King Cobra, Callaway, and Adams golf. Hope this helps.

If you are new to the game and looking for irons you are going to want what is called forgiving irons. These are designed for people who are less accurate at striking. The three best forgiving irons I know of are the Taylor Made LT, Callway fusion wide-sole, and the Nike Slingshot.
