Cuthbert will play lead in CBS pilot

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 3/27/08 – Though she is best known for her big-screen appearances in movies like “The Girl Next Door” and “Old School,” comely Canadian Elisha Cuthbert is hoping to make a big splash on the small screen with a lead role in the CBS pilot “Ny-Lon.”
“Ny-Lon,” adapted from the short-lived 2004 British drama of nearly the same name (“NY-LON”), will follow the transatlantic romance between Cuthbert’s character, Edie Miller, a literacy teacher from New York, and her boyfriend, Michael Antonioni, a stock broker from London (hence the title of the series).
The show will mark the 25-year-old actress’s first flirtation with the small screen since her last appearance on the Fox serial “24” in 2006, as well as her first non-supporting television role. Her next foray into film will be another foreign adaptation—this time of a Korean film, “My Sassy Girl”—which is set for release later this year.
