HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 1/24/08 – Although it sounds more like a math test than a James Bond movie title, producers revealed an official moniker on Thursday for the upcoming James Bond film: “Quantum of Solace.”

Fans expecting something tough, exotic or with a bit of innuendo will have to take solace in the fact it is the title of a short story by Bond creator Ian Fleming. Although 007 is only partially featured in the 1970 tale from the “For Your Eyes Only” anthology, it does take place in Nassau, near where “Casino Royale” left off — and Daniel Craig’s 007 goes after the bad guys who got his gal in that film.

Bond is tracking down the organization that caused the death of his lover Vesper Lynd and comes across a member named Dominic Greene, played by Mathieu Amalric (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”) who is planning to take over a South American country.

Bond is assisted by Camille, played by Ukranian actress Olga Kurylenko, who also wants revenge against Greene.

The sequel’s storyline was reportedly created by producer Michael Wilson while “Casino Royale” was shooting. The shoot reportedly uses cars from Aston Martin and Ford (their racy GT).

Earlier this month, it was announced that British actress Gemma Arterton signed on to play a character named Fields who is the MI6 officer in Bolivia.

Dame Judi Dench reprises her part as MI-6 leader M, and Mathieu Amalric plays Bond’s nemesis.

The 22nd movie in the long-running Bond series is currently filming at Pinewood Studios in England.

The movie will move to Panama City in February where Panamanian government buildings will be used. A sequence requiring hundreds of extras will be shot in nearby Colon, according to Wikipedia. In April there is a location shoot in Lake Garda, Italy where Paul Haggis wrote part of the script. Also on the travel itinerary is the floating opera stage in Bregenz, Austria.

“Quantum of Solace” is scheduled for release in the U.S. and Britain on November 7.
