The rapper’s tour bus turned out to be a rolling drug store with coke, X, pot and guns when stopped by Arizona-California border officers.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 1/23/08 – Rapper Lil Wayne, a.k.a. Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was arrested for felony drug possession Wednesday, after his tour bus was stopped by border patrol agents at the California-Arizona border checkpoint, where drug-sniffing dogs alerted agents that drugs may be on board.
The bus was stopped at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Upon searching, border agents found one ounce of cocaine; 1.45 ounces ecstasy; 3.7 ounces marijuana; drug paraphernalia; $22,000 in cash and a .40 caliber gun, which is legally registered to Carter in the state of Florida.
Carter is currently being held in Yuma County Jail after being booked on three felony drug charges. Carter appeared late Wednesday morning for justice court in Wellton, just outside of Yuma, for a video arraignment.
According to Yuma authorities, the rapper faces serious charges stemming from possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest by Drug Enforcement Administration agents.
The bus was carrying a 12-person crew and was traveling from California to Arizona. Two other passengers named Harold Johnson and Curtis Stewart were arrested for marijuana possession, said Yuma County Sheriff’s spokesman Capt. Eben Bratcher.
This is not the first arrest for Carter, who was previously arrested in July for smoking pot and carrying a weapon, while in New York.
Lil Wayne and Birdman are best known for the song “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy,” which won the 2007 Viewers Choice Award at the BET Hip Hop Awards. He was also named rapper of the year by The New Yorker in August 2007.

Don’t care what he does in his personal life. If it has affected his work, I hadn’t noticed. It DEFINITELY has not affected his work ethic. He deserves all of the recognition in the world for being one of the hardest working rappers EVER! not a druggie or a criminal. It’s gangsta rap. What did you expect?

Awesome info! I was honestly just thinking about something similar to this the other day so, it was almost “weird” when I ran across this. You would be surprised how many people simply have no idea when it comes to this kind of stuff. Anyway, thanks for getting this info out there and I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates you taking the time to post this for the masses.
