HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 1/22/08 – Six-time Grammy nominated singer Amy Winehouse was apparently videotaped smoking crack last Friday morning at her East London home. Recent photos of the “Rehab” singer attending her husband’s court proceedings appear to show her drug addled state too, indicating she may no longer care if the public thinks she’s a crackhead now.

Winehouse was allegedly videotaped unabashedly smoking crack for 19-minutes straight, after turning to the cameraperson shooting the video and saying she had already downed six valium immediately before.

The tape made its way to UK tabloid The Sun Newspaper which said she “took hit after hit of the deadly drug” and “snorted powdered ecstasy and cocaine” during the dangerous drug binge.

The newspaper posted the video footage in a 2:12 edited version that shows Winehouse doing the deed for the whole world to see.

Metropolitan Police have reportedly declined comment, but Universal Records’ UK label, Island Records, did make a statement saying, “We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems.”

The videotape appears grainy, but shows Winehouse clearly spiraling down to a new low.

To make matters worse, the newly coiffed frizzy blonde is already scheduled to attend a drug related court matter in Bergen, Norway. The singer intends to appeal a fine against her and husband Blake Fielder-Civil, stemming from an arrest in their hotel last October, between concert performances.

That episode was surrounded by negative concert reviews, after fans became impatient and booed the singer after her obvious slurring and stumbling on stage during performances.

Winehouse has had many scrapes with both the law and the paparazzi after acting erratically on and off the stage.

It’s anyone’s guess what will happen during her scheduled performance at the Feb. 10 Grammys, or if she will even be able to attend. Besides the possibility of her needing rehab or medical detox in the next two weeks, the Norway drug arrest on her record means airport authorities are likely to take a keen interest in her.

According to Grammy representatives Winehouse is slated to perform as scheduled. Winehouse has received critical acclaim for her work earning “Back to Black” a best album while increasingly ironic song “Rehab” is up for best record and song of the year. Winehouse is up for a total of six Grammys in all.

Two words: “Oh well.” Having heard her album and seen a few live videos (including the one where it looks like she’s doing coke on stage), I can honestly say, this woman is closer to circus sideshow than legitimate artist. Mediocre songs from homeless-crazy-person-in-training (and thats being polite). Good riddance to bad rubbish. Too bad, because when she dies prematurely, hearing about it ad nauseum will be unavoidable.

If you think she can’t sing I can honestly say I think you’re crazy.

But I can agree with the “Oh well.” assessment… I must say though. She’s a bit ahead of the curve for the promising music artist’s untimely-self-inflicted-death syndrome. Usually it happens around age 27.
