HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 1/21/08 – Nominations for the 2008 Razzies, an annual awards show that honors mediocrity, were announced on Monday, with Lindsay Lohan and Eddie Murphy leading the pack.

Murphy received 5 nominations of his own for playing multiple roles in the fodder-fest “Norbit,” including nods in the worst actor, supporting actor, on-screen couple, and screenplay categories. Since he dawned a fat suit and drag as Norbit’s wife, Murphy is up for worst supporting actress as well. The film is also in the running for worst picture.

According to Razzies founder John Wilson, Murphy’s record-breaking solo nominations are well earned. “We decided that each of his characters was so offensive that he deserved individual nominations,” he said.

Rounding out the worst actor list were Nicholas Cage (“Ghost Rider”), Jim Carrey (“The Number 23”), Cuba Gooding Jr. (“Daddy Day Camp”), and Adam Sandler (“I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry”).

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan took another beating for the thriller “I Know Who Killed Me,” in which she plays an abducted small-town girl who has a stripper alter-ego. The film achieved a record of its own – nine razzie nominations, including worst actress and picture.

Wilson summed up his “I Know Who Killed Me” viewing experience with a plea to the movie’s producers: “Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”

Lohan will face off against other worst actress nominees Jessica Alba (“Awake,” “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” and “Good Luck Chuck”), Elisha Cuthbert (“Captivity”), Diane Keaton (“Because I Said So”), and all four “Bratz” girls – Logan Browning, Janel Parrish, Nathalia Ramo, and Skyler Shaye.

Aside from “Norbit” and “I Know Who Killed Me,” the worst picture field consists of “Bratz,” “Daddy Day Camp,” and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.”

Winners of the 28th Golden Raspberry Awards will be announced on February 23, preceding the Oscar ceremony by exactly one day, as usual.
